Basra Children’s Hospital

The Basra Children’s Hospital Project is one of the strategic healthcare developments managed by AKG UAE for Project Management, aimed at supporting and enhancing healthcare infrastructure in line with international standards.

The project is developed on a total built-up area of approximately 24,000 square meters and includes the construction of a three-story main hospital building. The reinforced concrete structure utilizes a precast piling system, with over 12,000 precast piles installed to ensure structural stability and safety.

Implementation was carried out through a strategic partnership with MID International Contracting (Jordan), in collaboration with UHS (Universal Hospital Services), responsible for healthcare planning and the supply of specialized medical equipment, ensuring full integration of construction, medical, and operational requirements.

The project scope covers the construction and full outfitting of the main hospital building, including specialized medical units such as the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), a linear accelerator room for radiotherapy with a dedicated service entrance, operating theaters, outpatient endoscopy and dental units, advanced laboratory facilities, and a modern radiology department.

Additional works include supporting residential and service buildings for medical and administrative staff, as well as external infrastructure works comprising internal roads, parking areas, and landscaping. The project reflects AKG UAE’s expertise in managing large-scale healthcare projects through structured planning, effective coordination, and strict adherence to quality, safety, and operational standards.
